DescriptionThe client hospitals are situated in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Al Hasa - the mission of these four hospitals is to provide the highest quality of primary, secondary and tertiary health care services to residents of our community, the region and the surrounding Middle Eastern countries.
The Hospital in Al Hasa is a 300-bed capacity and provides primary and secondary patient care.
Including: Outpatient Clinics, Pharmacy, four Operating Rooms and Day Surgery Operation Room. It also includes eight beds for Haemodialysis, Physical Therapy Department, Radiology Department, Endoscopy, ER, ICU, Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department with two rooms for caesareans and six L & D rooms. Wards include: Male and Female patient wards, Gynaecology, Obstetrics and female surgery. male surgical ophthalmology, ENT and a VIP ward.

Experience in Oncology Nursing essential.

UNIT NAME Oncology Inpatient Unit (Ward 8)
PATIENT POPULATION Male and Female: > 12 years of age
NUMBER OF BEDS 8 beds (located within a General Surgical Unit)

OCCUPANCY RATE 69%
HOURS OF OPERATION 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. (12½ hour shift pattern)

PRIMARY PATIENT
DIAGNOSES / CONDITIONS Patients present with a range of haematological malignancies and solid tumours including:

- Leukaemia
- Multiple Myeloma
- Breast Cancer
- Colorectal Cancer
- Lung Cancer
- Head and Neck Cancer-
PROCEDURES (EXAMPLES) Administration of both curative and palliative intravenous chemotherapy.
Supportive treatment including:
- Blood and blood product transfusions
- Administration of antibiotics
- Pain management

Management of treatment related complications including:
- Neutropenic sepsis
- Gastrointestinal toxicities
- Tumour Lysis Syndrome

Management of oncological emergencies:
- Spinal cord compression
- Superior Vena Cava Obstruction
- Hypercalcaemia
