| Description | Our Client Hospital is a 450 bedded acute general hospital located in Hackney and the City of London with specialist care in obstetrics, neonatology, fetal medicine, laparoscopic surgery, fertility, bariatric surgery, obesity surgery and neurorehabilitation across east London and beyond. The hospital opened in 1986 and has steadily grown to meet the demands of a very diverse and expanding population.
Specialist services see patients from wider east London, Essex and beyond. There are over 2,200 staff and as a large teaching hospital train medical students from Queen Mary College, University of London and student nurses, radiographers and therapists from City University and the University of East London. The Hospital is the closest hospital to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games Park and is the designated hospital for the Park. Currently we have vacancies in the acute sugical wards for nurses with 6 months or more post registration experience. Surgical Specialties include: • General and emergency surgery • Specialist surgery - bariatric - breast care services - ENT - gastrointestinal - oral maxillo-facial surgery - podiatric services - trauma and orthopaedics - urology services Each year the hosptial: • treat nearly 40,000 inpatients • see over 183,000 outpatients • treat over 100,000 people in our A&E and walk-in centre • carry out 30,000 operations, over 85% of them as day-cases |
