Client hospital in Riyadh is a 900-bed state-of-the-art tertiary care medical center dedicated to delivering health care services of the highest international standard. The facility includes a busy Cardiac Surgery and Liver & Kidney transplant Center, a 21-bed Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Care and Trauma Centers, in addition to advanced Medical, OB/GYN, Pediatric, and Surgery departments performing all major surgeries-including conjoined twin separation (11 conjoined twin separates have been performed successfully to date, which is phenomenal worldwide). Contracts are minimum for one year. The benefits include: -tax free salary -free furnished accommodation - utilities free of charge -about 50 days annual leave -flights paid annually + 1 mid-year flights, -free medical care and emergency dental service Job Title: Pheresis Nurse Department: Laboratory Medicine Basic Function: To perform hemapheresis, donor phlebotomy and assist with donor screening. Principal Duties: 1. Performs therapeutic hemapheresis in accordance with the established SOPs. 2. Performs donor hemapheresis in accordance with the established SOPs. 3. Assists the donor room technologists with their duties as needed. 4. Assists the donor recruiters in their duties as needed. 5. Works on-call schedule. 6. Performs and documents quality control procedures. 7. Performs and documents equipment function and preventive maintenance. 8. Assists in the training of Med Tech students, new staff, medical students and pathology residents. 9. Participates in the continuing medical education (CME) activities. 10. Performs other duties as directed or assigned. Essential & Preferred Education & Experience: Should be an RN with at least two years experience in both therapeutic and donor hemapheresis and be thoroughly familiar with hemapheresis procedures and regulations of both AABB. Experience in personal computer operations (Microsoft Word and Excel) and direct working knowledge of laboratory information system in data processing is essential. Degree of Responsibility: Responsible for the accurate performance and reporting of the section’s functions under the supervision of the donor room manager, the division supervisor and the division head. |
