DescriptionOur Client is a modern teaching hospital based in a vibrant and cosmopolitan part of London. The Trust has a real commitment to providing excellence in maternity care and to support this have made significant investment in both midwifery and medical staffing within the maternity unit enabling us to recruit further midwifery staff at this time.

They offer progressive and innovative Maternity Services with high levels of expertise and excellent standards of care. A popular service we are continually developing to become a centre of choice for more and more women living in the south and west of London. The hospital unit has a fully equipped labour ward with 12 ward delivery rooms and two water birthing pools. There are two dedicated operating theatres and two antenatal/ postnatal wards as well as a day assessment area. We have community based midwives, providing care to women both north and south of the river Thames. The unit is currently managing 4800 births per annum and run a 6 bedded private maternity suite.

They support all midwives through a programme of orientation specifically designed to meet your individual needs which is followed up with your team leader as you progress.
They also have a Lead Midwife for Professional Development to aid you in your professional development throughout your career. They have a dedicated team of Midwifery Supervisors' with a variety of unique perspectives on the profession of midwifery. They run a positively evaluated group supervision system for newly qualified midwives which you can join. The Trust offers a range of flexible working options together with family friendly policies to enable you to balance home and work life more effectively.
They also have a dedicated Child Care Co-ordinator to help support you with local Child Care provision, holiday play schemes and childcare vouchers. They offer help with accommodation, both on-site and through the key worker Housing Scheme. Job Summary

This Midwife Practitioner has the delegated responsibility for the assessment, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for a defined caseload with development and support being given by the senior midwife. This midwife will be an innovative practitioner and an effective change agent promoting evidence based practice for women during the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period as well as offering choices in all aspects of pregnancy, birth and parenting.
