The Hospital in Al Hasa is a 300-bed capacity and provides primary and secondary patient care. Including: Outpatient Clinics, Pharmacy, four Operating Rooms and Day Surgery Operation Room. It also includes eight beds for Haemodialysis, Physical Therapy Department, Radiology Department, Endoscopy, ER, ICU, Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department with two rooms for caesareans and six L & D rooms. Wards include: Male and Female patient wards, Gynaecology, Obstetrics and female surgery. male surgical ophthalmology, ENT and a VIP ward. Benefits include: -tax free salary -free furnished accommodation -about 50 days annual leave -flights paid annually + 1 mid-year flights, -free medical care and emergency dental service Job Title Medical Technologist I Responsible to:Supervisor of Toxicology Basic Function: Within the mission, vision and values of the hospital, acts as the Senior Technical resource in a section of the Laboratory and acts as team leader. Principal Duties: 1. Performs duties in accordance with the Joint Commission on International Accreditation (JCIA), College of American Pathologists (CAP) and our Hospital Laboratory Standards. 2. Performs duties in compliance with Hospital policies and safety standards. 3. Performs day to day bench duties and acts as the leader of a workgroup within the section. 4. Assists the Supervisor with the staff scheduling and supervises the work and performance of technical personnel in the assigned section. 5. Ensures that materials, reagents and supplies are available and utilized in a cost effective fashion. 6. Assists the Supervisor in generating, maintaining and updating section's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 7. Responsible for the Medical Technologist II and Laboratory Technicians. 8. Monitors reagents, equipment function and preventive maintenance and troubleshoot instrument malfunctions. 9. Ensures documentation of section quality improvement activities. 10. Assists the supervisor in the evaluation of staff within the assigned section. 11. Analyzes laboratory computer applications to manage data. 12. Participates in teaching, training, training verification, competency testing and continuing medical education (CME) activities. 13. Assists the Supervisor to evaluate new equipment, maintains all equipment and maintains up-to-date information on developments in Laboratory Technology. 14. Assists in the ongoing inventory of supplies and equipment, and requests of additional supplies as necessary. 15. Evaluates and validates new methodologies. 16. Identifies technical, instrumental and/or physiological causes of unexpected test results. 17. Performs other duties as directed or assigned. Essential and Preferred Requirements: (P-Preferred, E-Essential, B-Beneficial) Education : Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, or, Certified Medical Technologist with current registration (E). Work Experience: At least three (3) years of post licensure experience with at least two years experience in a major institution (400+ bed hospital) (E). Must have demonstrated leadership and communication skills. English language skills : Skilled (Levell) (E) Computer Skills (Level): Intermediate Level |
