Tier 1* Not less than 3 years relevant experience as a consultant or equivalent post board certification, with not less than 2 years in the same country of certification or western accredited institution or equivalent b. Tier 2* Not less than 8 years full-time employment as a Consultant or equivalent by a World Health Organization (WHO) listed medical school (Teaching Hospital) or a fully JCI- or Canadian- or Australian-accredited hospital Presentation of logbook listing full range of procedures performed as a Consultant with letter of certification from Ministry of Health (or equivalent institution) in country of origin. The department of Pediatrics has 53 physicians, 22 Consultants, 21 Specialists, and 10 Medical Officers, in addition to 3 GP Residents, It is one of the largest pediatrics departments in UAE, and covers the Eastern Region of the UAE, the Northern Emirates and the Northern part of Oman. Pediatric care is offered to children age 0 – 15 years old. There are 117 pediatric hospital-beds including 36 beds in Pediatric Medical, 18 in Pediatric Oncology, 19 in Pediatric Surgery and 30 in NICU/SCBU, in addition to 6 PICU beds and 8 beds for the PECU (Pediatric Extended Care Unit). Inpatient services are covered by a team of 2-4 consultants, 5 specialists, 3 medical officers, pediatric nurses, 1-2 dietitians, 1 clinical pharmacist, and 1 social worker. Subspecialty cases are followed daily by the pediatric sub-specialists. Clinical Services: The broad spectrum of pediatric sub-specialty services puts the Hospital at the top as a referral center for several sub-specialties such as pediatric oncology and neonatal care. All the general pediatric and pediatric sub-specialty consultants are trained in North America (the majority) or Western Europe, and we provide comprehensive pediatric care in the following fields: General Pediatrics Neonatology Cardiology Endocrinology Gastroenterology Neurology Nephrology Hematology and Oncology Pulmonology Infectious Disease To enrich the knowledge of our staff, several physicians and teams, mainly form the US, are periodically invited to participate in giving lectures or seeing patients. |
